SUTPHEN EXTREME DUTY CHASSIS
Since 1968, Sutphen's experience and focus on the fire service has driven their desire to build the industry's best chassis. Every inch of the Sutphen Extreme Duty Chassis is built to withstand the most severe firefighting conditions. Sutphen's heavy wall 6061 T6 aluminum extrusions and heavy duty 3/16" aluminum plate form the cab that rests atop a box like steel subframe to assure that the cab travels safely in a locked position while creating a solid foundation should the apparatus be involved in an accident. The Sutphen Extreme Duty Cab meets or exceeds all ASME and ECE crash test standards.
Sutphen provides double frame rails, standard. The frame rails, cross members, and suspension hangers are Huck Bolted with Grade 8 fasteners, bead blasted, then sprayed with Cathacoat primer and durable Imron top coat paint to ensure that the chassis is free from corrosion.
Sutphen continues the Extreme Duty theme to the interior of the cab as well, no plastic is used inside the cab. Instead, a combination of aluminum, stainless steel, and durawear fabric complete the Extreme Duty Chassis that Firefighters across the world have come to depend on every time they get on the rig.
